As we head into spring, we're going to be tracking an increase in strong to severe storms. Meteorologists and photographers this year will be manning the ABC 17 StormTracker and the 360 Camera to help give you live up to date shots of what's going on. If you have lived in Missouri long enough, you've most likely seen some severe storms. With the 360 camera, the meteorologist has the ability to control the many functions of this high definition camera. Meteorologists can also rotate and pan this camera from inside the passenger seat with a plethora of controls. Features of the Stormtracker 360 Camera includes LED lighting for overnight events, wipers for the toughest of showers, and infrared abilities for better picture quality. Along with the 360 Camera. An interior camera shows the inside of the storm tracker so the meteorologists can talk to other team members and viewers to give you the quickest updates on conditions. Now this tool behind me will be used in conjunction with the ABC 17 storm track feature track and radar to help keep you safe and in the know well ahead of time.

Chance Gotsch grew up just south of St. Louis and moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri to pursue a degree in Atmospheric Sciences.

His interest in weather begin as a child when he used to be afraid of storms.

Chance joined the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team in February 2021. He is currently the weekday noon meteorologist.
